War Horse
Sergeant Reckless was a brave Korean War horse who served with the U.S. Marine Corps. She carried ammunition and supplies to soldiers during dangerous battles, often traveling through enemy fire. Reckless became famous for her courage and was eventually promoted to the rank of sergeant. She is remembered as one of the most heroic animals in military history.
For my moodboard, I chose to create a historical timeline inspired by the time period when Sergeant Reckless served. I drew inspiration from the colors, textures, typography, photographs, and military imagery from that era to give the design an authentic, vintage feel. I wanted the moodboard to feel like a visual journey through history while still highlighting Reckless and her story.

This research helped me better understand her story and gave me ideas for the visuals and overall design of my poster.

My goal was to make the design visually interesting while keeping the historical timeline clear and organized.

For my visual guidelines, I focused on creating a vintage, historical look that matched the time period of Sergeant Reckless. I chose muted colors, classic typography, old photographs, and military-inspired elements to keep the design consistent. These guidelines helped make sure that all of the visuals worked together and supported the historical theme of the poster.
